New Delhi, Dec 9 (IANS) Mayur Vihar’s Ahlcon Public School and Lodhi Road’s Air Force Bal Bharti School emerged champions in the Under-17 and U-14 categories respectively at the second edition of the Stairs School Football League here on Wednesday.
Ahlcon pipped Venkateshwar International School 1-0, while Lodhi Road’s Air Force Bal Bharti School defeated Indirapuram’s St. Francis Public School 2-0.
In the girls’ competition, East Vinod Nagar’s R.S.K.V. beat Modern School of Vasant Vihar 2-0 in the U-17 class. Vasant Vihar’s Modern School got the better of Stairs North 2-0 in the final of U-14 category.
The season witnessed active participation from over 6,000 children across 288 schools in the National Capital Region.
Adhering to its widely acclaimed format, SSFL started with over 60 grassroots spotting camps across the four zones in Delhi. As many as 592 matches were played in a span of 100 days engaging 288 teams.
