Forest Department Captures Leopard in Kundapur

Kundapur: The forest Department captured a leopard that was said to be causing trouble in Heskotthoor near Korgi, Kundapur on Friday, April 5.

The leopard was captured in a cage placed by the Forest department officials at around 3:00 am. The officials reached the spot at 4:00 am after they were informed by the locals.

The sighting of the leopard was reported in the past month from neighbouring taluks including Kedoor, Heskotthooor and Korgi.

On Thursday, April 4, a herd of goats were attacked by a leopard in Hatkeri near Koteshwar, Kundapur. Two days ago a calf was eaten by a leopard in the Ulthoor area.

The leopard captured at Heskotthooor is a six-year-old healthy male which has now been released into the Mookambika Wildlife Sanctuary.
