Forest Officials rescue trapped Leopard in Kuntalnagar

Udupi: Forest officials rescued a leopard that was trapped in a wire trap meant for wild boars at Kalmanje, Kuntalnagar near Moodubelle on Wednesday, July 19.

According to sources, a trap was set to catch wild boars, but the locals instead found a leopard caught in it. They alerted the forest officials who arrived at the spot armed with tranquillizer darts and shifted the leopard to the cage.

The leopard was administered first aid and later in the evening released into the Kudremukh reserve forest.

A large number of people thronged to Moodubelle to have a glimpse of the leopard.
