Former Congress Mayor Kavitha Sanil Joins BJP
Mangaluru: In a shocking move, former Mayor Kavitha Sanil officially joined the BJP in Bantwal here, on April 20.
Kavitha Sanil joined the BJP during the Election campaign held at Bantwal in the presence of State BJP President Vijayendra.
After joining the BJP, Kavita Sanil said, “Janardhan Poojary is my Guru, I met him for his consent before joining the BJP. While I was in Congress, I was very loyal to my party. I have accepted the principles of Prime Minister Modi and joined the BJP. Janardhan Poojary has blessed me and I have taken his blessings before joining the Party”.
Kavitha further said, “The comments of the Home minister on the Hubballi incident have hurt me a lot. If the same incident happened to his family member, would he have given the same statement? This time, we will vote for Rama. If we compare the candidates of BJP and Congress, I feel that we need to support the soldier. I am proud to be a Billava, a descendant of Koti Chennaya”.
Kavitha also said, “I did not join the BJP for power. Even though the Congress government is in power, I have joined the BJP. No one can say that I joined the BJP for power”.
