Former DySP Anupama Shenoy plans to form new political party

Udupi: Former DySP Anupama Shenoy has said that she will form a new political party. “I have discussed my move with my friends and will come to a conclusion within a month. While I was doing my duties effectively, politicians used me for their benefit. I will enter politics and use the policing strategy on the politicians”.

She was speaking to a private news channel here in Udupi on October 3. Anupama said, “I have three goals. I intend to build an MLA group, introduce policing form of system in the assembly. MLA’s should have the capacity of creating a government and also pulling it down. There shouldn’t be political parties that act as kingmakers. If our political party wins the elections, we will decide on supporting any other political party. I have no intention of joining any other political party. If everything goes well, I will contest from Bellary because I have many supporters there”.

She further said, “I have met the Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Digvijay Singh of Congress and Rajanath Singh of BJP. I have met them and complained of the present regime. There is no political party in Karnataka which can meet the expectations of people. I have the intention of building a political party which can either support or topple the government. The BJP and Congress have destroyed Kejriwal, the chances of joining AAP is less”, she added.

Anupama also said, “After I resigned from my job, many persons have come to meet me, some have advised me over the phone and suggested to start a new party. I will contest against Parameshwar Naik, it is left to the people to decide”.

If the MLAs form groups and, on a whim, bring down an elected Government (which I guess includes those MLAs as well), the ordinary people lose big time. The ordinary people will have to keep electing new Governments perhaps every year – only for that Government to be pulled down by the MLAs. Eventually people will be so tired of voting, hardly anybody will bother going to vote. Elections cost a… Read more »
