Former Minister Abhaychandra Jain Inaugurates Vasanthotsava at Pilikula
Mangaluru: “The two-day Pilikula Vasanthotsava was inaugurated at the Pilikula Nisargadhama here on June 3.
The Former Minister of State for Fisheries K Abhayachandra Jain inaugurated the programme by cutting the Mango. He later inaugurated the Fruit exhibition by cutting the ribbon.
Addressing the gathering Abhaychandra Jain said, “Today we have inaugurated the Vasanthotsava at Pilikula. We grow a lot of fruits and vegetables in Tulu Nadu. From many years farmers in Tulu Nadu grow various fruits such as Jackfruit, Mango, Pineapple, Papaya and many other fruits. Coastal Karnataka is very famous for fisheries too”.
Abhaychandra further said, “The Pilikula Nisargadhama is a tourism spot in Karnataka. In Pilikula we have a Planetarium, Heritage Village, Aquarium, boating etc. Every year we hold the fruit exhibition in Pilikula to support the farmers to sell their produce. People should visit Pilikula and support the farmers by buying their produce. Vasanthotsava is to encourage the younger generation and attract them towards agriculture. We need to grow plants and trees and this is our attempt to bring awareness among the youth”.
Director of the park, H Jayaprakash Bhandary and others were also present.
