Four arrested for obstructing Kota PSI Nithyananda Gowda from discharging duty
Udupi: The Brahmavar Police have arrested four persons for obstructing PSI Nithyananda Gowda of Kota Police Station from discharging his duty in Brahmavar during the wee hours of Wednesday, October 23.
The arrested have been identified as Guruprasad, Dileep, Sunil and Kiran.
According to Nithyananda Gowda PSI of Kota Police Station, while he was on his rounds with his driver on Tuesday, October 22 late night near the Shiroor Moorkai Junction three youth were standing near a shop in a suspicious manner. When the PSI approached them, they tried to flee from the spot. PSI Gowda and his driver succeeded in nabbing them, they seized their mobiles and asked them to come to the police station for questioning and later released them.
Thereafter while Nithyananda Gowda proceeded for his rounds, another youth Guruprasad stopped the police Jeep and used foul language against PSI Gowda and assaulted him. He also tried to obstruct Nithyananda Gowda from discharging his duty and later fled from the spot.
Since the spot where the incident took place comes under the Brahmavar Police Station limits, Gowda immediately informed the Brahmavar PSI Raghavendra who immediately reached the spot and arrested him along with the other three.
All the four accused were produced before the court and sent to judicial custody.
