Four from Bantwal Dead on Spot after Car Falls into 80ft Gorge at Kalasa
Chikkamagaluru: Four persons died after the car they were travelling in, fell into an 80 ft deep gorge at Herebail, Moodigere here, on February 18.
The deceased have been identified as Vishwanath (55), Pushpavathi (48), Rahul (58) and Mamatha (51) – all from Bantwal.
According to sources, 6 members of a family from Bantwal went to Moodigere in a Suzuki WagonR to watch Yakshagana. While they were returning to Bantwal after watching the Yakshagana. At Herebail, the driver lost control and the car fell into an 80 ft deep gorge killing four of the occupants on the spot. Two others in the car were severely injured and they were rushed to the hospital in Kalasa. Their condition is said to be critical.
Kalasa police have registered a case and are investigating.
