Four huts gutted in Sarlebettu fire accident
Udupi: Over 4 huts of the migrant workers in Saralebettu near Neharu Nagar were gutted after a fire broke out on Saturday, January 21.
According to sources, the fire was first discovered in one of the huts which suddenly spread to other three huts nearby. Rangappa Badami, Balappa, Krishna Hindin and Gopal have their huts.
The Fire service department on receiving information about the blaze rushed to the spot and doused the fire.
The fire has left the daily wage labourers shelterless causing a total loss of over Rs one lakh. There were no casualties. The exact cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
Valuable jewellery, grains, clothes, cooking utensils, cash and other household items have completely been destroyed in the fire.
