Four Interstate Women Chain Snatchers Arrested by Mulky Police
Mangaluru: Four Interstate women chain snatchers were arrested by the Mulky police on February 17, in connection with a chain at Haleyangadi – Kinnigoli bus.
The arrested have been identified as Sodala (30), Harini (29), Rohini Marmuthu (30) and Divya (23) all from Tamil Nadu.
According to the police on February 17, all the four snatched a gold chain weighing 3 sovereign from Ratna’s neck near Pakshikere church Kemral and fled from the spot. In this connection a case was filed in the Mulky police station.
In this connection, the police arrested all the four accused and recovered the gold chain worth Rs 50,000 from their possession. During interrogation it was revealed that the accused are involved in various crimes and cases have been filed against them in the Kavoor and Mangaluru North police stations. Cases have also been filed at Sadashiv Nagar Police station in Bengaluru. In one of the cases filed in the Kavoor police station, the accused have been absconding since 2008 without appearing before the court.
Under the able leadership of ACP, North Sub Division Srinivas Gowda IPS, the operation was carried out by police inspector of Mulky Police station Ananth Padmanabh, Sheetal Alagur, PSI Kamala, ASI Chandrashekar, Melwyn Pinto, Taranath, Dharmendra, Vivekanand, Mahesh, Annappa, Mohammed Hussain, Rajesh, Dinesh, Chandrashekar, Sowmya, Akshaya, Sabiya Banu, Megha, Sharada, Renuka and Vijaya Lamani.
