Fr Maxim Noronha takes Charge as New Vicar General of Mangaluru Diocese
Mangaluru: Fr Lawrence Maxim Noronha took charge as the new Vicar General of the Diocese of Mangaluru on September 26, in a short ceremony held at Bishop’s House Kodialbail.
Bishop of Mangaluru Diocese Dr Peter Paul Saldanha installed the new Vicar General in the presence of priests and other officials at the bishop’s chapel.
Fr Maxim, S/o Albert Noronha and Florine Noronha, hails from Pamboor ( Bantakal) Parish in Udupi Diocese. He was ordained on October 10, 1989 for the diocese of Mangaluru. He Served as Assistant Priest in Bhalki and Jalasangi (Bidar ), Pangla( Shankarapura) and Bendur Parishes. In 1994 he was appointed as the Pasish Priest of Piusnagar where he served for seven years .He was the parish priest at Ferar parish for Seven years. In 2008 he was appointed as the Procurator (Financial Administrator) of Mangaluru Diocese for five years. In 2013 he was appointed as the Parish Priest of Modankap Parish and Vicar vara of Bantwal deanery.
He is a priest for 29 years, his pastoral experience, administrative skills, simplicity, approachability and friendly nature would definitely make him good Vicar General of Mangalore diocese.
