Free Camp for Physiotherapy, Speech Therapy, and Counselling at Manasa Pamboor

A free camp for needy children, parents, and the public on Physiotherapy, Speech Therapy, and Counseling was held at MRTC on April 3, 2025. Dr. Edward Lobo, founder and Managing Trustee, inaugurated the programme, highlighting the centre’s efforts to provide required treatments and therapies to underprivileged children closer to their homes. He encouraged parents to utilize these services.

Mr. Joseph Noronha, Secretary of the trust, aptly addressed the gathering, emphasizing the centre’s immediate need to cater to the treatment needs of children and its efforts in physiotherapy, speech therapy, and professional counselling. He introduced the new therapists in these areas to the audience.

The programme commenced with a welcome address by Mr. Henry Menezes, President of MRTC, and concluded with a vote of thanks by Sr. Vinny Gonsalves, Principal. Distinguished guests included Dr. Gerald Pinto, Joint Secretary; Mr. John Martis, founder trustee; Mr. Walter C. Pinto; and Mr. Gerald Rodrigues, President of Catholic Sabha, Shirva Deanery.

Specialists from MRTC presented detailed explanations of the basic concepts related to Physiotherapy, Speech Therapy, and Counselling to raise awareness among aspiring children and parents undergoing specified therapies.

Children screened for further treatment or therapy will receive these services free of charge during April and May 2025. The programme was attended by 40 parents and children, who underwent screenings and benefited from the camp.
