Free COPD Check-Up Camp to mark COPD Day at AJ Hospital
Mangaluru: On the occasion of World COPD Day 2016 on awareness programme was held at conference hall A.J Hospital by Dept. of Respiratory Medicine, A J Institute of Medical Sciences& Research Centre
Dr. Ashok Hegde dean of the institution inaugurated the programme. He addressed the gathering stressing on imposing public awareness about COPD for its early diagnosis and Health management.
Dr. Vishnu Sharma M Professor and Head, Respiratory medicine gave an overview regarding COPD and importance of world COPD day. He also explained this year theme “Breathe in the Knowledge”
Dr. Devan PP Associate dean, Dr. Ramesh Pai Professor of Medicine & former Dean, Teaching faculty from various departments, post graduates and undergraduates students were present during the occasion.
World COPD day is observed on 3rd Wednesday of November every year. It is observed to create awareness regarding COPD. Even are held throughout the globe on the occasion to improve awareness about COPD. On this occasion patient education will be held at AJ Institute of Medical sciences from 14/11/2016 to 18/11/2016. Free COPD check-up and Spirometry camp is being organised by Respiratory medicine Department till 30/11/2016.
