Mangalore: A free health check-up camp was organized for teachers working in remote rural schools of Dakshina Kannada at the Father Muller Medical College Hospital (FMMCH) Kankanady, starting at 7 a.m. The camp, which catered to 87 dedicated educators, included comprehensive health check-ups and awareness sessions delivered by esteemed medical professionals.

Cervical Cancer Awareness
In recognition of January’s global observance of Cervical Cancer Awareness Month, *the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at FMMCH,* in collaboration with the *Indian Cancer Society* , provided *free Pap smear screenings* for women teachers. Screenings were conducted between 8:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., underscoring the importance of early detection in combating cervical cancer.

A symbolic inaugural ceremony was held, presided over by:
• Rev. Fr Ajith B Menezes, Administrator of FMMC/FMCOP/FMCOAHS, who emphasized the critical role of teachers, particularly those serving rural communities, in nation-building. “A nation cannot progress without good teachers,” he remarked.
• Rev. Fr George Jeevan Sequeira, Administrator of FMMCH, highlighted the hospital’s facilities and expressed his admiration for the dedication of rural educators.
