Free Kannada Teaching Classes Marks Decennial Celebration of Kannada Paata Shaale Dubai

UAE: The KPSD – Kannada Paata Shaale Dubai, (Kannada learning school) a free school, is initiated by Kannada Mitraru UAE under the leadership of Shashidhar Nagarajappa, which is dedicated to teaching Kannada to Kannadigas in the Gulf Region has successfully concluded 10th year annual day celebration at the Indian Academy School, Dubai recently.

It has been their tenth year of successfully conducting classes online where students learn their mother tongue-Kannada every Friday and Saturday to sharpen their Kannada speaking, reading, writing, and grammar skills.

Ravi Hegde, Chief Editor of Asianet Suvarna News and Kannada Prabha graced as the Chief guest of the event, inaugurated the stage program by lighting traditional lamps.

Founder President of Kannada Mitraru UAE Mr Shashidhar Nagarajappa, Siddalingesh BR, KNRI president Praveen Shetty, Mohan Narasimha Murthy, Dr Vishwanath.JP, Nagaraja Rao, Dr B.K. Yusuf, Harish Sherigar, Govinda Nayka, and other dignitaries were present in the dias.

The “Kannada Media Diggaja” award was bestowed upon Ravi Hegde for his outstanding contributions in the field of Media. Further, addressing the audience, he applauded the initiative of Kannada Mitraru for spreading Kannada in the gulf region and promised their support in future endeavors.

The Kannada Ratna award was bestowed to Praveen Kumar Shetty, and Mr Mohan Narasimhamurthy for long time support and guidance to Kannada Paata Shaale Dubai.

Dr Vishwanath JP State President of Karnataka Prajashakti Samithi, Bangalore graced the occasion, he appreciated the efforts of Kannada Paata Shaale Dubai and assured all his support.

The president of Kannada Mitraru and convener of Kannada Paata Shaale Dubai, Shashidhar Nagarajappa, gave a brief introduction about the school, the highlights were that this is a free school open to all children willing to learn Kannada, teachers working for seven months without pay to serve the community, he also thanked Kannada Paata Shaale, Dubai and extended cooperation and support received from Shivraj Thangadigi and Santosh Hanagalla from the Karnataka government end he informed about the ongoing project with Dr Mahesh Joshi to open an examination center in Dubai for the children who have studied Kannada in the Gulf region to undergo the 4-level examination of “Kannada Sahitya Parishad”, A special thanks to the sponsors and patrons who supported financially for the decennial ceremony.

Further, Abdul Latif SM Jahgidar, who donated his one-acre land to the government school, was honored with the Kannada Mithra award for his selfless contributions to society.

Rupa Sashidhar and Mrs Shilpa Siddalingesh were felicitated and honored with “Teacher of the Decade” for their selfless dedications for Kannada Paata Shaale Dubai. Meantime teachers who have contributed for more than four years were felicitated with “Shikshana Kausthubha” award and other teachers where felicitated with “Teacher of the year” award.

All the community leaders, office bearers of many organizations extended their support for the decennial celebration of KPSD. The students were felicitated by the guests and dignitaries with certificates and medals.

The various cultural programs performed by the students of KPSD were splendid and transported the audience to their homeland.
All the parents, guests, and well-wishers appreciated the effort of Kannada Mithraru, UAE.

Sunil Gavaskar, the Secretary, welcomed the gathering, Kavya Yuvraj, Mrs Bindu Mahadev and Mrs Chetana Gavaskar compered the event and Nagaraj Rao, Treasurer KPSD delivered the vote of thanks.

KPSD has impressed all Kannada lovers by not only teaching Kannada language in the gulf regions, but also donating computers and accessories for smart class to Kannada medium schools, right recognizing hidden people who are dedicated for Kannada, and supporting all Kannada programs, people without boundaries and discriminations.
The executive committee and members of KPSD well-coordinated and successfully concluded the grand decennial celebration with large numbers of spectators more than 1400 people with speculator arrangement of lunch for mass gathering.
