G Shanker Family Trust distributes 1000 Manipal Arogya Suraksha Health Cards to Police
Udupi: The G Shanker family Trust, in association with Mogaveera Yuva Sanghatane, distributed Health cards to the police at the conference hall, S P premises here on October 8.
The Programme began with an invocation, Vinay Karkera president of Mogaveera Yuva Sanghatane welcomed the gathering.
Nadoja Dr G Shanker president of G Shanker Family Trust inaugurated the programme by lighting the lamp and symbolically distributed the Health cards to the police and retired police personals. A total of 1000 health cards were distributed under this initiative.
In his message, Dr G Shanker said that the Trust has given priority to the Health and Education sector. Through Manipal Hospital, G Shanker family trust has given Arogya Suraksha cards to a number of families. Four years ago the district SP had requested to consider police personnel under this initiative. The Police are working under a lot of pressure, health cards will help them in their time of need, he added.
Udupi Superintendent of Police Laxman B Nimbargi in his presidential message said that the G Shanker Family is doing remarkable work for the betterment of the poor people. Udupi is the only district receiving such health cards from a private trust. Nearly 80 percent of the police make use of the Arogya Bhagya Scheme provided by the State government. In addition, such cards will help the family members of the police. SP congratulated Dr G Shanker for extending health care service to the retired police.
Dr Narayan Sabhahith Registrar MAHE Manipal, Kumarchandra Additional SP Udupi District were also present.
