G Shanker Family Trust distributes 947 Health Cards to Police
Udupi: The G Shanker family Trust, in association with Mogaveera Yuva Sanghatane, distributed Health cards to the police at the conference hall, S P premises here on May 1.
The Programme began with an invocation; Ganesh Kanchan president of Mogaveera Yuva Sanghatane welcomed the gathering.
Nadoja Dr G Shanker president of G Shanker Family Trust inaugurated the programme by lighting the lamp. K T Balakrishna IPS, Superintendent of Police Udupi district symbolically distributed the Health cards to the police. A total of 947 health cards were distributed under this initiative.
In his inaugural message G Shanker said that the Trust has given priority to the Health and Education sector. Through Manipal Hospital, G Shanker family trust has given Arogya Suraksha cards to a number of families. Current year Arogya Cards will be given to 25,000 families. The Police are working under a lot of pressure, health cards will help in their time of need, he added.
In his message K T Balakrishna K said that the G Shanker Family is doing remarkable work for the betterment of the poor people. Udupi is the only district receiving such health cards from a private trust. Nearly 80 percent of the police make use of the Arogya Bhagya Scheme provided by the State government. In addition such cards will help the family members of the police. SP also congratulated Dr G Shanker for extending the health care service also to the retired police. He also urged Dr G Shanker to extend this service across the state.
Additional SP N Vishunvardhan, Pro Chancellor Manipal University Dr G K Prabhu, retired police association president Dr Prabhudeva Mane and others were present.
