Gadag Man Trying to Sell Blackbuck’s Pelt Arrested in Dharmasthala
Beltangady: The forest mobile police squad on Friday arrested Nagappa aka Nagaraj (28), who was found in possessing a pelt of blackbuck (Antilope cervicapra or Krishna Mruga), which is an endangered species.
It is allegedly a poached animal. Nagappa is said to have been looking for a buyer in Dharmasthala. He tried to escape but the mobile squad foiled the attempt.
The case has been handed over for further action to the Dharmasthala police.
