Gandhian Centenarian Madan Master No More
Bantwal: Freedom fighter and Centenarian K P Madan Master breathed his last at his residence in Perla here on March 27.
Madan Master actively participated in the freedom struggle including the Quit India movement. He had the credit of joining the freedom fight along with Mahatma Gandhi.
Madan Master was a teacher by profession and also a very good farmer, he was involved in Honeybee farming and popularising it. He actively participated in various Pro-Kannada organisations and co-operative Unions.
He worked relentlessly for the implementation of Land reformation and helped hundreds of farmers to get land rights under the Land reformation act. He was always wearing Khadi and was a hardcore Gandhian.
At the age of 100, Madan Master was very much active but recently suffered minor ailments. Last year Madan Master was felicitated on Gandhi Jayanti at the Gandhi Park, Mangaluru .
