Gang Diverting Attention of People to Steal Valuables in City

Udupi: The Udupi city police have requested the people to be cautious of a gang that is moving in the city by indulging in attention diversion tactics to steal valuables.

According to the police, Miscreants indulging in diverting the attention of people to steal valuables is rampant in the city these days. Gangs involved in this type of crime have been active again in the last one month. These gangs use different tactics to divert the attention of victims before stealing their valuables.

These miscreants were involved in the jewellery robbery case in Koppal district. The gang is moving across the state by changing the number plates of their vehicle. As per the intelligence report, the team has arrived in Udupi district. These miscreants use different methods — throwing itchy substances, money on the road, or asking queries like directions. We have got some clues on the gang based on CCTV camera footage, and efforts are on to nab them.
