Two Die of Toxic Fumes in INS Vikramaditya at Karwar
Karwar: Rajesh Kumar (29), an employee of the Seabird naval base hailing from Patna and Mohandas Kolabankar (28), a contract employee from Mudga in Karwar, died after inhaling toxic fumes in INS Vikramaditya, Indian Navy’s aircraft carrier, on Friday night.
The ship was at anchor at the naval base. The two workers were engaged in cleaning the human waste unit’s tank. They suddenly fell ill while working and were rushed to INS Patanjali, the navy hospital.
But they reportedly succumbed to the effects before reaching the hospital.
