Girl Ends Life over Repeat Failure in SSLC Exam
Karkala: Success and failure are part of life. Parental and peer pressure during studies can take a heavy toll during studies in general and examinations in particular, feel many social workers.
Lack or total absence of counselling leads some students failing in examinations to desperate steps. In another incident in recent times, Harshita Poojary (16), daughter of Rajaram Poojary of Kadtala in Ajekar in the district, ended her life over her failure in the examinations.
She had failed in the SSLC examinations earlier this year. Hence she appeared for the supplementary examinations that were held subsequently.
As the news of her repeat failure was received, she suddenly got into her room and ended her life by hanging herself from the ceiling fan.
