Girl’s Post of Eve Teaser’s Vehicle Details on Facebook, Accused Arrested
Mangaluru: A youth has been arrested by the Women’s Police Station on June 30 in connection with harassing a college student.
The arrested has been identified as Rizwan alias Arshad (29) from Jeppu.
Rashmi Shetty, a 22-year-old MA student from Mangaluru had posted a photo of Rizwan’s vehicle number plate on facebook. She had exposed the man on social media on how he had harassed her. When Rashmi was walking on the St Aloysius College Road, Rizwan was following her on his two-wheeler in broad daylight at 3 pm in the centre of the city. Rashmi stood in the bus-stop to for a while but Rizwan too parked his vehicle and waited for her. Rashmi moved further and clicked the photograph of Rizwan’s vehicle and posted it on her Facebook page which went viral.”
In this connection, a Suo Moto case was filed at the Pandeshwar Women’s police station. On June 30 Rizwan was arrested by the Pandeshwar police. He will be produced before the court.
This is a lesson for all the eve teasers not to take girls or women for granted. If anyone harasses any girl or women they should come forward and file a complaint against them.
