Give Clean and Transparent Administration in Revenue Dept – Kagodu Thimmappa
Udupi: The Revenue Department is the mother of all departments and the officials associated with the department should set an example to others by giving a clean and transparent administration, said Revenue Minister Kagodu Thimmappa.
He was speaking after inaugurating the new Brahamavar Taluk on February 14.
From the village accountant to the deputy commissioner, the role of every officer is vital in bringing the administration closer to the people. People who had constructed houses on government land unknowingly are in constant fear of losing it. However, the government had brought in a scheme to uphold their interests. We have asked those residents in rural areas who have constructed houses on government land to get them regularised under the Akrama-Sakrama scheme.
The Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had announced 50 new taluks during the last budget and the government had completed the technical process of all the 50 taluks by the end of January. However, there have been demands for more taluks and the government will consider them if they are feasible, he said.
The district minister in-chargre Pramod Madhwaraj, MLC Kota Srinivas Poojary, Deputy Commissioner Priyanka Mary Francis, Udupi ZP vice president Sheela K Shetty, Udupi TP president Nalini Pradeep Rao and others were present.
