‘Give Seat to Mahadev Prasad’s Son to Save Congress’ – Poojary tells CM
‘Give the vacant Seat to Late Mahadev Prasad’s wife or Son if not the congress government will collapse’- Poojary tells Chief Minister Siddaramaiah
Mangaluru: It was once again Senior Congress leader Janardhan Poojary in the Press Club once again lashing at CM Siddaramaiah, where he said addressing the media persons, “We all know that Karnataka Cooperation and Sugar Minister HS Mahadev Prasad, aged 58 died of a heart attack at a private resort in Koppa in Chikkamagaluru district on Tuesday. He was in Koppa to attend an official function, official sources said. He had undergone bypass surgery a few years ago. Prasad, who represented Gundlupete constituency in Chamarajanagar district, was a close associate of chief minister Siddaramaiah. Prasad is survived by his wife and a son.”
“A large crowd had attended Prasad’s final rites, including CM, where calling Prasad’s death unexpected and shocking, Siddaramaiah said he was one among his closest, and it was a huge personal loss to him and to the Congress party. “He was an able administrator and a clean politician. I have lost a close friend and a wonderful colleague,” had said Siddaramaiah. If CM is so close to Prasad, he should allot the vacant seat of Late Mahadev Prasad, either to his wife or son, in order to save the congress government from collapsing. Why I am saying this is that I know that CM has someone else in his mind to give that seat. CM should know that Mahadev has done good work, and all his works are still alive and worth full. So I urge CM that without any hesitation to consider either Mahadev Prasad’s wife or son for the post” added Poojary.
Condemning the speech made by MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, where he had said that “DK will Burn”, Poojary came down heavily on MP Kateel saying, “Being an MP with a responsible post and representing lakhs of people of DK, he making such remark is shameful, disgraceful and hurtful. Even though MP Nalin has apologized through the media that what he said was not intentional, but words slipped out of his mouth. This is not enough, if Kateel really wants to be forgiven without any curse from the people for using the word that DK will burn, he should visit the doorstep of every citizen in DK, bow at their feet and ask for pardon-only then he is safe if not his life will be in jeopardy. MP Kateel should have thought twice before spitting out such words, knowing that he will be in trouble. Then why did he do so? Now face all the consequences”
Slamming at Home Minister Parameshwara for his senseless comments on women being molested during New Year Eve celebration in Bengaluru, Poojary said, “I feel so ashamed now, that I was the one who was trying to get Parameshwara the CM’s post, and if he did get the CM and if he said these comments I would be devastated. He should ask pardon from all the women in Bengaluru for his baseless and disgraceful remarks, if not the women leaders in Bengaluru will not allow him to live in peace”.
When a reporter asked Poojary, what he has to say about CM Siddaramaiah taking a charter flight from Bengaluru to Mangaluru to attend Dr BR Shetty son’s wedding this evening, in spite of three days of state mourning for Late Mahadev Prasad. In reply with a loud voice, Poojary said, “All I can say is that our CM is brainless. If he is so close to Dr BR Shetty, he should have taken a bus to attend this wedding reception, and not use citizens money to engage a charter flight. Is Dr BR Shetty paying for his flight expenses? I don’t think so”.
On a final note, while Poojary is always talking about discipline, character, respect and being a good person, but this morning at the end of the press meet, what many of the media persons didn’t like the way Poojary raised his voice very disrespectfully hurting the feelings of the members of Sant Nirankari Mandal, who had come with a bouquet of flowers to offer and introduce themselves to him- but Poojary raising his voice at them said, “Who told you to offer flowers to me. Don’t you know that I don’t accept any flowers nor gifts. Are you trying to bribe me. Take your flowers away”. I think that was rude and ignorant on the part of a Senior Congress and most respected person, like Janardhan Poojary. Oh well, seems like “We don’t practice what we preach”- like all politicians?
