Glitz and Glamour mark Grand Finale Bash of KMC 25 Glorious Years
KMC Hospital Attavar Celebrated the Grand Finale event of its 25 Glorious Years of Clinical Service on 24 June 2017 at TMA Pai International Convention Centre, Mangaluru.
Mangaluru: KMC Hospital Attavar, to mark the completion of 25 successful years of providing clinical services observed the Grand Finale of its Silver Jubilee Celebrations on Saturday the 24th Of June 2017 at Dr T.M.A. Pai International Convention Centre Mangaluru. Kasturba Medical College Hospital Attavar has been adding new clinical facilities and upgrading with State of the art Clinical facilities in addition to organizing several Clinical, cultural, sports and scientific activities and programs, throughout this year to commemorate the Silver Jubilee year of the Hospital.
Throughout the year of celebrations, the key motto had been “Go Green” which is in line with the Manipal University’s Green Initiatives which has fetched Number 2 Ranking in India and 42nd in the world 2014 – 2015 Under suburban category in the UI Green Metric World University Ranking of respective years. In addition to Felicitating all its Clinical and Nonclinical Employees who have completed 25 years of service with KMC, there have been 25 programs in the last 6 months as part of its Silver Jubilee year celebrations.
All inaugurals of the KMC Hospital Attavar’s Silver Jubilee year programs were by Chief Guests pouring water to the sapling which has amounted to 25 Saplings which are planted under respective Guest placards in the Marina Campus- Attavar of KMC Mangaluru. The 25 years of glorious years grand finale function began with an invocation through a Bharatanatyam dance from artistes of Nrityangan. The chief guest Dr HS Ballal- the pro-chancellor of Manipal University, along with other dignitaries performed the lamp lighting ceremony in front of the portrait of Founder, late Dr TMA Pai.
The welcome address was delivered by Uday, and a Bonsai plant was presented to each guest on the dais, including the chief guest. The chief guest released the E-souvenir under the title “Silver@KMCHAT”, which was a paperless digital E-souvenir.(CD). Public launch of KMC-Attavar documentary was next. Surprise! That’s right- the organizers surprised the Chief guest with a birthday celebration by cutting a cake to celebrate his birthday.

The vote of thanks was delivered by Dr Santhosh Rai- Chairman of the Silver Jubilee Committee. The formal function followed by a dazzling and glittering entertainment by the artistes of ‘Shad’s Music World”, which comprised of songs, mesmerizing dances, and a hilarious comedy act by Vismaya Vinayaka. Singing sensation Sangeetha Rajeev aka Sara enthralled the audience with her melodious voice and her dance moves joined by a part of the revelers in the audience. The finale was indeed a glamorous and glittering extravaganza which entertained the entire audience, and everyone went home happy.
As part of the Silver Jubilee year Celebrations KMC Hospital Attavar since January 2017 onwards had: Partnered an advanced paediatric surgical program with Bal Shalya Kriya Mission Mangaluru in collaboration with Peedh Parai International, Houston (U.S.A) and Bantwal Ananth Mallya charitable trust whereby 25 children, up to 16 years of age with untreated complicated surgical conditions requiring very high surgical expertise has been treated free of cost;
Inaugurated the renovated state of the art Neonatal Intensive Care Unit & Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at KMC Hospital Attavar;
Organised International Childhood Cancer Day, at the Sanjivini Hall on The childhood cancer survivors and their families, joined the special occasion. The Sports Day- In-door and out-door events were conducted for the Hospital Employees; A plaque was Unveiled of Padmashri Dr Tonse Madhav Ananth Pai (Late Dr T.M.A.Pai) in commemoration of his Philanthropic contribution to the society and to spread awareness on the central message that CANCER IS CURABLE, organised Cancer survivors meet and Intercollegiate Undergraduate Cancer Quiz competition; The renovated state of the art 18 bedded Intensive Care Unit (ICU) was inaugurated;
KMC Hospital and College in association with World Health Organization participated in road safety week and organised various awareness events from May 8 to 14 to create awareness about road safety.
The Cultural Committee facilitated competitions like Anthakshari, Variety Entertainment Competition, Collage/art/Poster making and Singing Medley. The scientific committee conducted competitions like Essay writing, Debate and Quiz to the staff members of the Hospital; an informative seminar session on Stress Management, Art of Living & Yoga, Diet and Personality Development was conducted in June for all the employees in the hospital; Team of doctors, Management, non-clinical staff and Students of KMC Hospital Attavar along with Volunteers of Ramakrishna Mission –Mangaluru, Sri Pathanjali Yoga Shikshana Samithi –Mangaluru, Staff & Students of Madhusudan Kushe School Attavar took up the cleanliness drive – “Swacch Attavar” as part of Swacch Bharat Abhiyan where the team cleaned the 1 Km Stretch Public Road and the surroundings and Drainage ways on both sides of the public road from KMC Hospital Attavar to NG road. Making it clean & ready for the upcoming monsoon
KMC Hospital-Attavar, being First Hospital in Dakshina Kannada District to start comprehensive cancer care centre has upgraded its Linear Accelerator with Intensity Modulated Radiotherapy (IMRT) treatment for Cancer patients, which gives a modern touch to functionalized and continual improvement of cancer care.
