‘GO GREEN WEEK’celebrated at Harihar- St Aloysius College
“Take a stand for the love of green. Don’t be mean, just go green”
Mangaluru: The slogan “Go Green” is seen and heard everywhere, but so many people don’t understand why go green! In order to give awareness St Aloysius college, Harihar celebrated go green week from 25/7/2019 to 30/7/2019. As a part of the go green week several activities have been conducted during this week to encourage students and spread the awareness to the society.
Herbalism is based on relationship, relationship between plants and human, plants and planet, human and planet. The third day, 27/07/2019 the dress code was yellow. On that day We bought herbal plants to our garden. The fourth day 28/07/2019 at 3:00 pm students of St Aloysius college along with the lecturers walked into the villages (Jay Bheema Nagar) in order to distribute the saplings. The dress colour code was green. Around 50 students participated in the procession holding placards and slogans representing the importance of mother nature.
Every student was asked to bring saplings from their home in order to distribute it to the villagers. The saplings brought a wide smile on the face of villagers. villagers appreciated the work done by college. We also visited a government school of that village and distributed sapling. The villagers promised that they will take care of the saplings very well. St Aloysius college succeeded in creating awareness about nature to the villagers.
In all things of nature there is something of the marvellous, one touch of nature makes the whole world kin. On last day,30/07/2019 at 3:00 pm we organized poetry writing competition, the theme was “The Nature”. Nature always wears the colours of spirit. The dress code for the day was pink for girls and red for boys. 15 students participated in this competition and the best poem was awarded with the prize.
The one-week Programme was organised in order to spread the awareness and it was a great success in organizing. By organizing these kinds of awareness programme St Aloysius College is providing service to the society and mother nature.
