Kundapur: In a significant visit, Goa’s Chief Minister, Dr. Pramod Pandurang Sawant, arrived at the renowned Kollur Sri Mookambika Temple on Thursday morning to partake in special prayers. This cherished temple, located in Karnataka’s Udupi district, is a revered pilgrimage site for devotees across the country.

The Chief Minister’s journey began with an early morning train ride from Goa to Byndoor, where he was warmly welcomed by local MLA Gururaj Gantihole. Following this cordial reception, Dr. Sawant proceeded to Kollur, where he was greeted with a traditional Purnakumbha welcome by temple priests Narasimha Bhat and Suresh Bhat.

Upon his arrival at the temple, Dr. Sawant had the opportunity to offer his prayers before the deity. He then actively participated in the auspicious Chandika Homa and Poornahuti rituals, conducted by the resident priests. Esteemed dignitaries accompanying the Chief Minister included MLA Gururaj Gantihole, President of the Kollur Management Committee Babu Shetty Taggarse, Executive Officer Prashant Shetty, and former village Panchayat President Santosh Bhat.

Following the Poornahuti ceremony, the temple authorities honored Dr. Sawant with the temple’s offerings, a gesture of respect and gratitude. Concluding his visit to Kollur, the Chief Minister departed for Udupi, carrying with him the blessings of the sacred temple and its devotees.
