Goa: Dalgado Konknni Akademi (DKA) is celebrating Dalgado Day, the birth date of Mons. Sebastiao Rudolfo Dalgado, patron of Dalgado Konknni Akademi in whose memory the Akademy is named on 8th May 2015 at a special function organised at Ravindra Bhavan, Mini Theatre, Baina, Vasco. Akademi celebrates this every year. This day is dedicated to the members of the Akademi.
To commemorate this day in a grand way, Fr Luis Xavier Gomes, a young priest from Mapuca church and a Gold Medalist in Konkani language from Goa University will deliver a memorable lecture on Mons. Dalgado. In addition to this, three books of well known Konkani writers will be released. The books are ‘Xirfiro’, novel by Pandharinath D Lotlikar, ‘Natim’, short story collection by Menino Almeida and a reprint of Daniel F De Souza’s humorous articles titled ‘Chun’nam ani Kan’ddam’ All the books will be sold at discounted rates.
The Chief Guest for the function will be Freedom Fighter and Tiatrist Ciriaco Dias and the Guest of Honour will be renowned Writer and Lyricist Yusuf Shaikh. President of DKA Premanand A Lotlikar will preside over the function.
This function is open to all. Secretary of DKA Vincy Quadros called upon Akademi members and Konkani lovers to attend the function in large numbers and take reading habbits to greater heights by purchasing the books at discounted rates.
