Goa Governor, CM extend Ganesh Chaturthi greetings
Panaji: Goa Governor Mridula Sinha and Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Saturday extended their greetings to the people on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi, one of the most popular festivals in the coastal state which gets underway on September 2.
“Ganesh is believed to be the Lord of success, who blesses his followers with their desired achievements by removing the obstacles of their paths. Hence, ‘Vignaharta’ is one of the popular names of Ganesh, which means ‘demolisher of obstacles’,” Sinha said in her greetings.
Sawant said that Ganesh Chaturthi brings “inner joy and contentment to every family”. “This wonderful festival has significance towards strengthening the social fabric of the State, which prevails in our communal harmony, tolerance and peaceful life style,” he said.
