Goa: “We are called to have intimate relationship with Jesus.” Said Archbishop-Patriarch Filipe Neri Ferrão. Archbishop Filipe Neri Ferrão was delivering a homily at the Eucharistic celebration of Solemn Profession of Sr Klancy Fernandes OCD at the Cloistered Carmel Monastery, Chicalim.
The Archbishop in his homily recalled, the covenantal love of God and showed how Jesus was faithful to His Father. He appealed to the faithful have intimate relationship with Jesus and give witness to His love in the society.
Br John Malvino Alfonso OCD was the commentator for the liturgical celebration while Fr Mark Furtado OCD co-ordinated the liturgy. Fr Sylvestre D’souza OCD, Provincial Councillor wished Sr Klancy on behalf of the Karnataka-Goa Province of the Carmelites and gave a glimpse of the life of Carmelite Cloisterd nuns. Archbishop Ferrão also expressed his joy. Sr Jacintha Mary, Prioress, Cloistered Carmel Chicalim delivered the vote of thanks.
It is recalled that Sr Klancy hails from St Inez and a daughter of Maria Angelica Clemy Fernandes and Late Avelino Manuel Fernandes. She completed her SSC at the Mary Immacuate Girls High School, Panaji and completed her graduation at Dempo College, Altinho Panaji. She entered the Cloisterd Carmel Chicalim in the year 2007 and made her first profession in 2010.
