Goan League Gears up for Knockout Phase

Kuwait: Goan Football League run by the Goa Football Association Kuwait (GFAK) goes to the knockout phase with the quarter-finals fixtures lined up to be played at Bayan Grounds after 10 rounds of gruelling games in the summer heat.
In Group A, leaders Holy Spirit, Margao will take on fourth-placed Capxem Boys, while Pasha Boys will play St. Rita,Maina.
Amigos de Jardine play CRCChinchinim, and St.Christopher FC will play Goa Strikers.
LAST ROUND RESULTS
In the last round of matches, Holy Spirit drew with Pasha Boys 1-1 to remain unbeaten in the group with 24 points from their 10 matches.
BazileoRegowho later won the man of the match scored for HolySpirit while Joaquim Pacheco was the scorer for Pasha Boys.
The man of the match was presented by Arnold Bothelo.
FOCUS ON ST. RITA MAINA
This week’s focus for the team of the week falls on St. Rita, Maina for their impressive 3-1 victory over Miracles SC.
St. Rita is sponsored by Bhasin Company. They play in the GFAK league under the leadership of President Cheslee Leo D’Souza and Vice President Kenneth Fernandes, with guidance from its dynamic Technical Advisor Salvador Dias.
Prolific scorer Josse Fernandes scored a hat-trick while one of the best goalkeepers in the league – Martin Dias made plenty of saves to deny Miracles SC.
Siddharth was the lone scorer for Miracles SC.
Josse was awarded man of the match at the hands ofAgneloD’Cunha.
UNBEATEN TEAMS TO ADVANCE
Amigos de Jardine and St. Christopher SC were the other two teams to be unbeaten in the league phase.
Amigos finished top of Group B with 24 points while St. Christopher accumulated 22 points from 10 outings.
Amigos de Jardine beat Le Blues Goa 3-0 in their last league match.
Jayden Luke – 2 and Justine Tony – 1 scored for the winners.
Justine Tony of Amigos was awarded man of the match at the hands of GodfreyAguiar.
In the other matches, CRC Chinchinim held St. Christopher F C 1- 1.
Mairon Fernandes – 1 scored for St. Christopher while Zeon Paul Fernandes scored for Chinchinim.
Mairon Fernandes of St. Christopher was awarded at the hands of Rosario Colaco.
Goa Strikers beat Dynamos FC 3-0 to qualify for the knockout phase.
Ronny Fernandes -1, Conrad Pinto –1 and Ashely -1 scored for the winners. Ronny was adjudged man of the match, the prize was handed by John Pillai.
