Gold Biscuits Worth Rs 33.80 Lakhs Concealed in Pipe Under Flight Seat Seized by Customs

Mangaluru: As per Customs Department circular, the Mangaluru Air Intelligence Unit Officers found six pieces of tola bars (gold biscuits) weighing 671 grams valued at Rs 33.80 lakhs (approximate) concealed in a pipe, kept under the flight passenger seat on Sunday, 27 September 2020 on Flight of Indigo from Dubai to Mangaluru during rummaging of aircraft.
It is suspected that someone was trying to illegally smuggle the gold biscuits. Investigation is on and the Customs officials are on the lookout for the person behind this act. The flight then proceeded to Hyderabad.
