Puttur: While Darbe resident K Prabhakar Shenoy and family had been to attend a function in Kozhikode in Kerala, his house was found broken into on Sunday morning. The break-in appeared to have taken place during the past week.
A boy supplying milk in the morning on Sunday noticed that the front door had been broken open and he informed the adjacent house belonging to the owner’s brother. They informed the police.
By evening, Prabhakar Shenoy and family returned and inspected the house. Gold ornaments valued at Rs 4-lakh-plus, which included diamond-studded earrings, a gold mangalsutra and others, have been taken away.
Silver items were found strewn all over the place. Similarly, some foreign currency in the wardrobe has been left untouched.
Police teams and fingerprint experts have visited the spot and held investigations.
