Good News for Police Dept, Govt Accepts Auradkar Report for Hike in Salary – U T Khader
Mangaluru: “The much-awaited and long pending demand of the police department for a hike in salary has finally been fulfilled by the state government. The Raghavendra Auradkar Committee submitted a report on June 25, 2019, which recommended to increase the salary and promotions for the police personnel have been accepted by the government. The coalition government has approved the report of Raghavendra Auradkar Committee on police reforms. The new hiked salary will come into effect from August 1”, said the District Minister In-charge U T Khader in a press meet held at the Circuit House here on July 17.
Addressing the mediapersons U T Khader said, “In 2016, the committee headed by the then ADGP (Recruitment and Training) Raghavendra Auradkar, had recommended a hike in the salary of police personnel as the police personnel had threatened to go on strike because of low pay scale. The government has now accepted the report and has approved to increase the salary by 12.5%. The salary of the police constable has been approved to be increased by 100% from Rs 23,500 to 47,650 and for the police head constables from Rs 27,650 to 52,650. For Assistant Sub Inspectors, the salary will be Rs 30,350 to Rs 58,850 and for Police Sub Inspectors Rs 37,900 to 70,850. For the Police Inspectors Rs 43,100 to 83,900 and for SP and non IPS Rs 70,850 – Rs 1,07,100.”
U T Khader further said, “The Auradkar report has also mentioned of taking action to increase the salary of the Prison police and the fire department. This is a historic decision taken by the coalition government to increase the salary of the police personnel.”
