‘Good Samaritan’ SP Annamalai Helps a Girl Pursue her Studies

Chikkamagaluru: When Annamalai was the SP of Udupi, he was quite popular among the youth for his committed and transparent work. He had changed the mindset of the youth there and made them to follow the traffic rules as well as to respect the law. While in Byndoor, Annamalai had supported a student to pursue her education through Yakshagana Kalakendra. Even in Katapadi, he has helped children in meeting their medical expenses. Annamalai is yet again in the news for helping the needy.

In Chikkamagaluru, Nirmala (name changed) was in love with Naveen (name changed) but unfortunately the family members of Nirmala were against their intimate relationship. Nirmala who had made up her mind to marry Naveen went to the SP’s office for help in spite of her younger sister Nikitha (name changed) pleading her not to leave her alone as she loved her very much. SP Annamalai was in a difficult situation to settle the matter since Nirmala and Naveen were of legal age to take the decision of getting married.

Nirmala and Nikitha had lost their parents when they were small and were being looked after by their relatives. Nirmala was the only hope for Nikitha as she was taking good care of her. Worried about continuation of her education, Nikitha pleaded with her sister to change her mind and stay with her. But Nirmala being deeply in love had decided to marry Naveen and there was no looking back.

When SP Annamalai noticed Nikitha pleading and convincing her sister not to leave her alone, he approached her and said, “You don’t have to worry about your education. I will take care of your expenses until you complete your education and will also see that you get a good job”. When Annamalai was consoling Nikitha, tears rolled down the eyes of the police personnel, Nikitha’s relatives and the journalists who were present there.

SP Annamalai once again proved that humanity is above all which he has been proving again and again. SP Annamalai is great human being and an ideal police officer who should be a role model for all.
