Good Work by CISF ASG Mangaluru: Restoration of Passenger’s Gold Chain
Mangalore: On January 26, 2025, at approximately 8:30 am, a lady passenger, Mrs. Rachna Marla, departing by IndiGo flight 6E-256 to Bengaluru, reported to the Airport Terminal Manager that she had lost her son’s gold chain in the airport.
The Airport Terminal Manager immediately informed the CISF staff, who meticulously reviewed the CCTV footage. They discovered that the gold chain had fallen at the cityside vehicle dropping area on the upper ground floor and was taken by a private vehicle driver.
With the help of the police, the vehicle owner’s mobile number was traced, and he was contacted. After questioning, the owner admitted to taking the chain by mistake and was willing to return it. CISF contacted Mrs. Rachna Marla, who expressed her desire to have the gold chain back without filing a police complaint.
After obtaining a written apology from the private vehicle owner, the gold chain was deposited at the lost and found office. The passenger’s relatives later collected the gold chain from the ATM office after following the due process.
Mrs. Rachna Marla appreciated the CISF’s efforts by posting a video message, acknowledging their good work in restoring her son’s gold chain.
