Got Dope! Engineering Students Gone ‘Ganja Dealers’ Arrested by Cops
Mangaluru: No doubt, the educational Town named Mangaluru has become a haven of narcotics, and in spite of law enforcement officials cracking down hard on the ganja dealers and buyers, there has been no end to this trade. And added to the credits of arrests made by the cops on this trade, here is yet another arrest made by police on eight young men, all hailing from Kerala, in which seven are pursuing their studies in Engineering in two private engineering colleges, while one is a physiotherapy student, also at a private college in the City.
As per the police, the arrested students are Akshay K Prasad (22) from Kottarakere, Jafer Adyar (22), Nimil Sreekandapuram (21), Amith Shrivalsan Mavilayi (21), Ashwin Suresh Kapadadi (21) and Akshay Ramesh Payyambalam (22) all from Kannur, Mohammed Amir Puthiyangadi (22) from Kozikode, and Akash S Aranmula (23) from Pattanathittam- Kerala. Police have confiscated 500 gms of ganja, eight mobile phones, Rs 4050 in cash, a motorbike and a scooter. The students were arrested following credible information that they were involved in selling ganja near Morgans Gate in Mangaluru.
The successful operation was carried out by Shantharam- CCB inspector, Ramakrishna- Economic and Narcotic Crime Inspector, and Kabbal-CCB PSI and staff.
