Government releases Rs 8.84 crore milk subsidy; Pramod Madhwaraj

Udupi: The government of Karnataka has released and deposited rupees 8.84 crore subsidy in the bank accounts of milk producers in Udupi district said Minister for Fisheries, Sports and Youth affairs Pramod Madhwaraj.

He was speaking after inaugurating Janaspandana organised by the district administration at Narayanguru Sabha Bhavana, Bannaje here on November 5.

The government has released pending subsidy of Rs 3.42 crore to 13,205 milk producers in Udupi taluk, Rs 3.52 crore to 12,004 milk producers in Kundapur taluk and Rs 1.88 crore to 5801 milk producers in Karkala taluk. The report on Ksheerabhagya scheme indicates that significant growth of the child has been achieved.

Technical problems are hindering 24X7 electricity supply to Udupi taluk, the MESCOM officials are directed to solve the technical issues. If MESCOM fails to provide continuous electricity to Udupi taluk, the second phase of UPCL project is likely to be opposed. The energy department has appointed 90 new linemen to Udupi constituency. 850 houses are electrified under the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya scheme.

The government of Karnataka has spent rupees 438 crores for various infrastructure projects in Udupi constituency. The department of food and civil supplies have distributed 12,000 BPL cards to beneficiaries in Udupi taluk.

320 applications for social security schemes are approved, 14 title deeds are issued under 94C and other facilities under various schemes have been distributed to the beneficiaries. The Bhagyalakshmi bond and laptops to meritorious students were distributed.

The SC/ST community should widely avail Basava Vasathi Scheme. The government has set relaxations in title deeds and RTC for SC/ST community, he added.

TP President Nalini Pradeep Rao, Town Development Authority President Narasimhamurthy, CMC Member Amrutha Krishnamurthy, Assistant Commissioner Kundapur Ashwati, ADC Anuradha and others were present.
