Mangaluru: “To prevent the scarcity of water in the city all measures have been taken. At present, the water level at the Thumbay dam is 4.7 meters and at the AMR dam, it is 18 meters. Since Mangaluru and Batwal Taluk have been declared as drought affected areas, a meeting in this regard was convened with the Deputy commissioner, Zilla Panchayat CEO and the commissioner of MCC to prevent a crisis in the supply of water”, said Chief Whip Ivan D’Souza in a press meet held at his chamber here on March 30.
Addressing the mediapersons Ivan said, “We have already instructed the concerned authorities to release only 10 MGD of water to MRPL and MSEZ instead of the usual 15 MGD water.
