Govt will Upgrade District Hospital soon – Health Minister Shivananda Patil
Udupi: “The State government will appoint 400 doctors and 1,600 nurses, we will also buy 400 ambulances,” said the Health Minister Shivananda Patil. He was speaking after visiting the district government hospital at Ajjarkad, Udupi on September 30.
“Udupi district hospital is providing good service to the people of the district. The government will try to upgrade the hospital from the Taluk level to the District hospital as soon as possible. The previous government had tried to upgrade the hospital but the process is still pending. As Health minister I will do by level best”, he said.
Shivananda Patil also said, “As of now, there is no shortage of doctors and staff in the district hospital. Without upgrading the hospital we cannot create new posts in the hospital. First, we will try to upgrade the hospital”, he said.
Udupi MLA Raghupathi Bhat, District Surgeon Dr Madhusudhan Nayak, District Health and family officer Dr Rohini and others were also present.
