GP Workers Stage Protest, Demand Revision of Pay Scale

Manipal: Panchayat Development Officers Association, Second Division Assistant Association, and Panchayat Workers Association jointly staged a protest in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s office Rajathadri, Udupi here on March 20.

President of PDO Association Siddesh said that the government should provide manpower and infrastructure within the stipulated time to the Bapuji Seva Kendra. The promotions of PDO’s, SDA’s, and VA’s are pending; government should promote eligible officials. The promotion process should be formulated for the Panchayat workers.

The PF and ESI facilities should be effectively formulated. Officials are subjected to departmental inquiry and notices are served especially in housing schemes, such interventions should be avoided. GPS through App has been creating hurdles for the housing schemes; the technical interference should be rectified.

Pending investigations on Panchayat workers are forwarded to the Lokayukta for investigation which should be dropped. Computer operator vacancy has to be created and implemented, he added.

Secretary of PDO Association Mahesh, President of SDA Association Shivraj, Secretary of SDA Association Bettaswamy, President of Panchayat Workers Association Narayan Beejadi, Secretary of Panchayat Workers Association Ramesh Naik and others were present.
