GVOM-3 Winner Orson D’Souza’s Musical Evening Mesmerizes Music Lovers of Mangaluru
Mangaluru: ORSON D’SOUZA, winner of GVOM-3, along with the band TEETOTALERS and OFF PITCH vocal choral group, presented his maiden Konkani musical evening at Kalaangan on 4th Feb 2018. Orson had come all the way from Kuwait to mesmerize all the music lovers of Mangalore.
The evening began with the full team singing the ASOTHOMA tune composed by Roshan D’Souza Angelore, based on an Indian chant. This Was featured in BEATS OF INDIA album with 17 languages. This composition has found its way into the Limca book of records.
The evening was elegantly compered by the popular HERA PINTO in her own charming and witty style.
Orson Dsouza started the evening with the first song Angelina ( composed by Tony Pereira) which won him the coveted GVOM-3 title.
Music was Directed by eminent music director ROSHAN D’SOUZA, Angelore. He was supported by Ivan Pereira on drums, Sanjay Rodrigues on the keyboards, Arthur Lobo on the rhythm guitar, Kenny Pereira on saxophone and Dilraj Rodrigues on Bass guitar.
The OFF PITCH vocal choral group presented a fascinating blend of voices and acapella style for the famous Goan Konkani song MOGAN ASON BOREM which resulted in the full crowd giving a standing ovation to the group & music director Roshan D’Souza.
The teetotalers Honoured two eminent personalities CYPRIAN VAZ and CHARLES D’MELLO for their contribution towards Konkani music for the last 4 decades. CYPRIAN VAZ and CHARLES D’MELLO have been active members of the choir and have played, taught and performed Konkani music & hymns for the past 40 years. The TEETOTALERS presented them with a CITATION, flowers & a wine bottle and honoured with shawls.
Band teetotalers are the only Konkani rock band of Mangalore. The Teetotalers, a bunch of fun-loving friends from different professional career backgrounds bonded over their passion for music. Driven by the tremendous appreciation from Konkani music lovers and guided by their zest for Konkani music and the primary intention of promoting a NEW TALENTS, the Teetotalers got together yet again in support of ORSON D’SOUZA. The teetotalers are DILRAJ RODRIGUES, VIJAY FERNANDES, DEEPAK FERNANDES, ROSHAN D’SOUZA, MALCOLM VEIGAS, IVAN PEREIRA & VIJAY LOBO.
Orson was supported by Elton Nazareth, Jacqueline Fernandes & Zeena Pereira on the vocals.
Robin Sequeira, the winner of the best singer global award, rendered the famous TU YEAH song in his own unique style.

The show ended with a great rendition of Baila Naach song with a surprise flash mob which saw more than 25 dancers on stage in-sync with the music.
The show was witnessed by a record crowd, which cheered and supported every song.
