Hassan: ‘Shiradi Ghat’ is a new Kannada movie under production. The name has raised a lot of curiosity and its release has been eagerly awaited.
However, the cruel fate snatched the lives of two of its technical crew while on their way back from location shooting. They had packed up and were travelling to Bengaluru in a Toyota Qualis car.
At Shantigrama in the taluk, their vehicle met with a head-on collision with a tipper vehicle. Malatesh, a cameraman, said to be hailing from Andhra, and Chiranjeevi, the driver, died on the spot. The incident took place near the Ranganathpur gatearound 2-30 am on Monday early hours.
Rajesh, Satish and Bora Suvarna are the other injured. The condition of Rajesh is said to be critical. They have been taken to a hospital in Bengaluru.
The Shiradi ghat is currently closed for repairs. The film team appears to have found the right opportunity to shoot the movie during the period. The outdoor and locale shooting was in progress over the past days, said the villagers.
After completing the outdoor stint, the crew was returning to Bengaluru in the midnight, said Shantigrama police.
