HC Prashant Shetty Suspended over alleged Connivance in Illegal Activities
Mangaluru: The police Commissioner Dr Harsha is committed to giving justice with every citizen. In this regard, additional manpower has been put to crack down illegal drug trade in the City with zero tolerance.
The police have been instructed to take strict action against those violating the law.
The police have arrested 8 drug peddlers within 24 hours. Based on a complaint received by the department against Prashanth Shetty, a head constable of East police station. Head constable Prashanth Shetty has been suspended for his alleged connivance in illegal activities.
Dr Harsha in his message said, “I heard from some of the media that Head Constable Prashanth Shetty from East Police station is allegedly involved in illegal activities. A complaint was received about his involvement in illegal activities and facilitating crime. Based on the complaint received by the DCP law and order we have suspended HC Prashanth Shetty with immediate effect.”
He further stated that anyone who is involved in illegal activities will not be spared. If anyone supports or facilitates illegal activities we will take strict action against them. A detailed departmental enquiry will be held in this case.
