HC quashes poll code violation case against DVS
Bengaluru, (DHNS): The High Court of Karnataka on Wednesday quashed the lower court proceedings against Union Minister for Statistics and Programme Implementation D V Sadananda Gowda with regard to a complaint registered against him for violation of election code of conduct.
A complaint was registered against Gowda for alleged violation of poll code where he went on his election campaign beyond permissible time.
The campaign was to end by 6 pm, but Gowda was campaigning till 7.30 pm. However, while registering the complaint, provisions of the Representation of Peoples Act, 1951 with regard to money being paid was invoked.
