New Delhi, Sep 16 (IANS) Intelligent electronic transaction platform Payworld on Wednesday said that it has tied up with HCL Infosystems to make available a wide range of HCL distributed products to Payworld users across India.
The company, a part of the $2 billion Sugal and Damani Group, said that a pilot project was being launched in pockets of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Rajasthan.
“Once we launch the pilot and implement the learnings, we will roll out the same product or add more to the portfolio across India in all places where Payworld is present,” said chief operating officer Praveen Dhabhai.
Under the partnership, Payworld will also offer leading handset models to customers, mainly in the sub Rs.5,000 pricing. It anticipates a good response for this product range as this will increase availability of mobile phones through neighborhood stores, saving time and travel for customers especially in smaller cities and rural areas.
“Our intention is to sell almost 100,000 phones per month through this channel,” said Dhabhai.
