Headquarters Coast Guard District (Karnataka) Celebrated 73rd Independence Day

 Mangaluru: Headquarters, Coast Guard District (Karnataka) celebrated 73rd Independence Day with an impressive Ceremonial Parade and playing the National Anthem. The men and women on the Parade were full of enthusiasm and their white uniforms and shining medals filled the atmosphere with the wave of patriotism and desire to serve the Nation.

DIG SS Dasila, TM, the Commander, Coast Guard Karnataka unfurled the national flag at the Independence Day Parade. Addressing the Independence Day parade, Dasila recounted millions laying their lives in the past and keep doing the same now on to keep the spirit of
freedom so we can have independence. He also added let’s celebrate our freedom and do our part to make this world a better place. Also let’s indulge in celebration and remembering ones who made it possible, who made India stand high.

The national flag was also unfurled at Coast Guard Kindergarten, Kunjathbail by the Dy Comdt Deepika Dhiman and sweets were distributed to children and staff. Ceremonial Parades were also held at Coast Guard Station Karwar, Coast Guard Air Enclave, New Mangalore and Coast Guard Aeronautical Overseeing Team, Bangalore, which are functioning under the aegis o f Coast Guard Karnataka. Adding to the spirit of celebrations of the Independence Day, Indian Coast Guard ships were ‘Dressed Overall’ in their best concurrently providing maritime safety and security round the clock off coastal Karnataka with valour and courage.

Indian Coast Guard ships are dress overall on the occasion of the Republic Day (26th January), Coast Guard Day (1st February), Maritime Day (5th April), Independence Day (15th August ) and Navy Day (4th December)
