Mangaluru: I have reached safely to my hometown along with my three children from Uganda, now I want my husband to reach home in Beltangady safely”, said Mihim Rasheed in a press meet held at Hotel Woodlands here on March 22.
Addressing the mediapersons Mihim said, “Ten months ago, in connection with a dacoity case my husband Abdul Rasheed was arrested. While he was in the jail for three months we were helpless. During the time of difficulty, “M Friends” and people from the Mosque helped us by providing food. They also helped my husband to get bail. My husband was released after three months on bail and because of their help I and my children have reached our hometown Beltangady.”
She further said, “With the assistance of M Friends, on March 20, myself along with my three children boarded the flight to Mumbai and by train reached Mangaluru on March 22. I want my husband back in Mangaluru as there is a risk to his life”.
Speaking to the mediapersons Abdul Rasheed’s father Mohammed Shafi said, “My son Rasheed had called me and informed me regarding the dacoity case through the phone. He had even informed us that the company had filed a case against him. I immediately informed the members of M Friends and Shahul Hameed regarding the case and requested them to help my son prove his innocence. Now my son has been released on bail, my daughter-in-law and three children have reached here safely while my son is facing problems in Uganda”.
Mohammed further said, “Ten months ago, when Rasheed was returning home, some miscreants attacked him and looted about Rs 12 lakh cash. The company named Rasheed as the accused and put him behind bars. Rasheed was in jail for three months and was later released on bail, he is now facing problems in Uganda. We need justice and want my son to be back home.”
Mohammed further said, “My son is already in trauma. The next hearing of the case in Uganda is on April 5 during which Rasheed has been ordered to pay the amount to the court. Kindhearted people should come forward and help to bring my son back from Uganda”, pleaded Mohammed.
K K Shahul Hameed said, “We will start “Operation Uganda” to bring Rasheed back to his hometown. Rasheed has been released from the jail on bail but he cannot work, he needs to pay Rs 12 lakh to the court by April 5. Once the amount is paid he will be free to return back to India. ‘M Freinds’ team will start “Operation Uganda” and collect money to pay to the court on April 5 during the court hearing. I hope kindhearted people will surely come forward to bring Rasheed back to his home Town.”
