Helping Shameema in Need – May There be More Renukas!
Mangaluru: Blood Donors Mangaluru, a vibrant group of individuals selflessly promoting blood donation and coordinating with the donors and the needy patients, had a tough job on hand towards the end of the last week.
A woman called Shameema had been admitted in the Yenepoya hospital and she desperately needed B-ve, comparatively a rare group of blood. The Blood Donors could not get it anywhere around immediately.
When the news was spread through social media, esp., WhatsApp groups, Renuka, hailing from Udupi, willingly volunteered to donate. She arrived in Mangaluru in the middle of the night and gave the much-needed blood, although she had never met or known the recipient.
The Blood Donors have highly appreciated her gesture and have wished that there would be more Renukas in the service of the mankind.
The Blood Donors Mangaluru convener has said that the human blood does not have different colours for different religions. Such humane acts can go a long way in promoting and strengthening harmony in the society, he says.
Among the main supporters of the group are Sahyadri College of Engineering and Management – Mangaluru.
